a) General

1. Subject to the payment of the agreed storage fees, Atom Detailing Ltd accepts temporary custody of the vehicle for the storage period.

2. The customer hands over the vehicle temporarily for the storage period and agrees to pay the storage fees.

3. The vehicle is covered by our fully comprehensive insurance throughout the duration of the storage period, up to a single vehicle valuation of £50,000. If the value of your vehicle exceeds this, there may be an additional surcharge, which will be set out in the storage fees.

4. All customers who do not wish to use the insurance policy provided by Atom Detailing Ltd will need to provide proof of insurance prior to the vehicle arriving at the facility. We recommend that you consult your insurance company prior to storage with us.

5. Atom Detailing Ltd takes no responsibility for the vehicle during the journey to and from the storage facility.

6. All personal items and valuables should be removed from the vehicle. Any items left in the vehicle are left at the customer’s risk. The customer is reminded that many contents insurance policies may not cover possessions in the vehicle.

7. By entering into this agreement, the customer warrants that they have both ownership and legal title of the vehicle.

8. In order to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, all gas bottles are to be switched off/removed when the vehicle is on site. No other noxious, hazardous or explosive substances or preparations are allowed on site.

9. Access to the site is by appointment only by prior arrangement with management.

10. Prior notice of 48 hours should be given before the collection of the vehicle during the storage period.

11. Atom Detailing Ltd is not liable for any mechanical defects on your vehicle.

12. Atom Detailing Ltd takes pre-storage inspection photos of the vehicle, including any damage or defects found. Please make us aware of any damage or defects that you are aware of.

13. Please be aware that all entry and exit movements are logged and that the storage facility is covered by CCTV, which is recorded and stored.

14. Storage spaces are not transferrable to third parties.

15. No trading is permitted from the site.

16. No repairs to the vehicle are to be carried out on site.

17. Storage contracts are based on 4 weekly rolling terms. We reserve the right to amend our pricing structures on a 4 weekly basis in line with general price increases and inflation.

18. The storage fee is payable prior to, or at drop off. Atom Detailing Ltd has the right to alter the storage fee by giving notice to the customer in accordance with clause 18.

19. Atom Detailing Ltd reserves the right to adjust the storage fee and shall give the customer no less than a 4 week notice of an adjustment. Should you no longer wish to store your vehicle with us due to the price increase, then vehicles are to be collected within 24 hours following the end of the storage contract.

20. In the event of the storage fees being overdue, Atom Detailing Ltd shall be entitled to charge interest on overdue invoices from the date when payment becomes due until the date of payment at a rate of 8% per annum above the base rate of the Bank of England. Atom Detailing Ltd may retain possession of the vehicle until the arrears are settled in full. Atom Detailing Ltd will notify possession of the vehicle by recorded delivery.

21. Atom Detailing Ltd excludes all liability caused by vermin infestation. We have a recognised vermin control regime in place, which is regularly monitored.

22. In order to fulfil this agreement, Atom Detailing Ltd will always act with due diligence in providing a fit and proper place for the storage of the vehicle.

23. Atom Detailing Ltd are held liable for any damages to the vehicle as a result of vehicle movements unless the vehicle is chosen to be driven by the customer (not recommended).

24. Should any damages to the customer’s vehicle arise, Atom Detailing Ltd will contact the customer immediately and a detailed damage report shall be filed.

25. Should you believe that your vehicle has been damaged whilst on site, it is requested that you inform Atom Detailing Ltd immediately. In cases where you believe you have a claim, details should be given in writing and sent to hello@atomdetailing.co.uk within 48 hours of the vehicle’s departure date.

26. Atom Detailing Ltd reserves the right to refuse any vehicle not deemed acceptable.

27. Atom Detailing Ltd reserves the right to ask the customer to remove their vehicle from the site if they do not abide by these terms and conditions with immediate effect.

28. No unauthorised access is allowed to any person other than the customer of the vehicle stored in the facility and other persons explicitly identified by the customer. A valid form of ID is required for any authorised persons prior to storage and at any time of access.

29. Atom Detailing Ltd excludes all liability for loss or damage to the customer’s vehicle in the event of circumstances beyond our control.

30. Where it appears that a vehicle has been brought to the storage site for the purpose of abandoning it, Atom Detailing Ltd may arrange disposal of the vehicle via the provisions of Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 as amended and any costs incurred will be recovered from the customer who brought the vehicle onto the storage site.

31. Whilst Atom Detailing Ltd does their utmost to provide security for the vehicle stored with them, it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of theft or damage.

                                                                                 

b) Vehicle Preparation & Charges

1. Vehicles stored longer than 4 weeks will have an indoor dust cover applied and also be connected to trickle chargers as standard. If you do not wish for your vehicle to have a cover or be attached to a trickle charger, please make us aware prior to storage. Due to fire regulations, we will only use our own approved battery chargers.

2. Motorbikes stored longer than four weeks require a pre-storage 1 to 2 hour wash at a fee of £75 ex VAT. Exceptionally soiled vehicles that take longer than two hours to clean will incur an additional fee of £50 ex VAT per hour.

3. If you wish to frequently take your vehicle in and out of storage, we will discuss with you the optimal time for the pre-storage valet, as we can only apply a motorbike cover to a clean motorbike. Ongoing maintenance valets can be arranged to suit your needs.

4. Vehicles stored for four weeks or less do not require a pre-storage valet or car cover. However, these are available for an additional fee.

5. We clean and re-use our indoor car covers. If you would like a brand new cover for your vehicle, these can be purchased and left with the vehicles for an additional charge. Please ask us for details and cost.

 

c) Deposit, Contract Length And Cancellation Policy

1. Deposit: We require a 4 week deposit as payment prior to your booking. The deposit is refunded on collection of your vehicle. In the event of needing to cancel your booking, we will retain the deposit if we are unable to fill the dates that were initially booked.

2. Storage contracts: Storage is based on four week blocks. Your contract length is linked to the number of months specified for storage during the booking process. If you wish to extend the storage duration, we require notice in writing as soon as possible to hello@atomdetailing.co.uk. Extensions are not guaranteed and are dependent on availability. To cancel a contract early, we require an £40 ex VAT cancellation fee and one months' storage fee up front.

3. Vehicles must be collected within 24 hours of the storage contract ending. Any vehicles exceeding this will incur additional storage fees of £10 ex VAT per day. Vehicles that are not collected on time may be removed from the storage facility and parked externally at owner’s own risk.

 

d) Vehicle Drop Off And Collection Policy

1. Atom Detailing Ltd requires 48 hours’ notice to collect a vehicle. Vehicles dropped off/collected in opening hours (Monday to Friday 9:00-17:30) can be done so free of charge. Out of hours and weekend drop offs/collections cannot be guaranteed and incur a £30 ex VAT fee per drop off/collection.

2. Drop offs and collections during holiday periods where the business is closed (bank holidays, annual leave, Christmas etc) are not guaranteed and will incur the out of hours fee.
